Circleville, OH - July 8, 2005 - The Circleville-Pickaway Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) Board of Directors announced Nathan "Nate" Green as the county's new full-time Economic Development Director. A strong leader with a proven track record, Green will lead the county's economic development efforts as growth continues in Pickaway County.
Green was introduced to community leaders on Friday, July 8 at a reception held at Berger Health Systems, and he will officially begin his role on July 25.
In his role, he will coordinate economic development activities for the City of Circleville and the Pickaway County community. He will be a key leader in attracting new business, retaining and supporting existing business, energizing development, and facilitating business expansion to provide a foundation for job growth and economic strength in the county. Green will work closely with other major entities in the area to develop coordinated economic development strategies for the county. Additionally, he will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the CIC.
The CIC is a not-for-profit corporation created in 1967 to advance, encourage and promote the industrial, economic and civic development of Pickaway County.
"The CIC Board is excited to have Nate leading our economic development efforts," said Tim Colburn, board president. "In addition to his energy and enthusiasm, he brings strong credentials and a vast network of professional contacts. As the northern part of the county continues to expand, it is critical that we have a full-time experienced professional to advocate for business growth in Pickaway County."
Green is a native of Northwest Ohio and received his bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University. He has over six years of experience working in the development sector, first for the Ohio Department of Development and most recently for the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority. During this time, he has worked on over 200 development projects and has made a major impact in the areas which he has served. For example, he was instrumental in Avery Dennison's decision to construct its new worldwide divisional headquarters in Mentor, a project that retained 450 jobs and created 60 new, and he played a vital role in International Steel Group's decision to re-open the former LTV steel works in Cleveland, creating over 1200 jobs.
